Professional Summary

Liz Dubnicay is an environmental scientist and programs professional with more than 14 years of experience in environmental consulting, ecological assessment, conservation advocacy, regulatory compliance, and interdisciplinary environmental communications throughout the Appalachian region.

Her professional background includes extensive work supporting environmental permitting, wetland and stream delineation, endangered species consultation, habitat assessment, ecological field surveys, environmental due diligence, remediation support, and environmental data interpretation across complex infrastructure, utility, and conservation-related projects. Liz has worked with both private and non-profit organizations over the span of her career.

Her experience spans both technical environmental consulting and nonprofit conservation work, with a particular focus on wetlands, inland water resources, habitat conservation, environmental compliance, watershed protection, ecological communication, and community engagement. She has participated in extensive threatened and endangered species survey work throughout Appalachia, including bat mist-netting, acoustic monitoring, radio telemetry, and habitat-use analysis.

In addition to technical environmental science, Liz has a strong interest in science communication, environmental education, GIS-based outreach, and improving public accessibility to scientific information through creative and community-oriented engagement. Her interdisciplinary background also includes illustration and painting, systems organization, workflow development, and positive-reinforcement dog training instruction.

Liz remains particularly interested in opportunities that integrate environmental science, conservation, GIS and environmental data systems, technical documentation, ecological analysis, public engagement, and creative communication. Her work is guided by a strong commitment to environmental stewardship, accessible science communication, and strengthening connections between people, conservation, and community resilience throughout the Appalachian region.
